This is a programme delivered through a partnership between the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the British Paralympic Association, Sport England and the Youth Sport Trust. Schools can earn a kite mark for their commitment to competition as well as to PE and school sport.

In 2018/19 Schools obtained a School Games Mark with Silver or above. There are currently 4 SHSSN schools with Platinum awards, 5 with Gold and 1 Silver and 2 bronze. Congratulation to all schools and all the hard work that you have put in this year attending competitions, working on club links and making your school healthy places for your pupils. This award is nationally recognised and used by Ofsted as an indicator of High Quality PE and School Sport. They have used all of their SHSSN provided opportunities and support to evidence their impact on improving outcomes for students.
